MY WORK

2D asset creation

rpg game spritesas part of my work, i was required to create 2D assets in response to a brief creating a sprite designed to be featured in a dark and grungy 'swords and spells' game.my process for generating the design included sketching initial concepts in which i explored how shape language and different features could impact a character's demeanour, then selecting a final design that communicated the appearance that i wanted. in this case, i wanted the player character to look friendly, approachable and heroic, while also tying in the 'grungy rpg' theme, hence my use of rounder and softer shapes while also including a darker colour palette.

pet care spritesone of my more recent works was a response to a practivate brief that wanted assets produced for a game that teaches young people important practical skills. having experience drawing animals, i chose to generate sprites for game that teaches the skill of pet care. i designed these creatures to be colourful and unique, that way they would appeal to the younger target audience.

3D asset creation

i have also worked with creating 3D assets, and for this example in particular, we were tasked with creating assets in a cartoonish style similar to that of mario. for my design, i created a fantasy flying whale whose crown is a golden castle.

3D environment creation

i have some experience with creating a 3D environment, and here is one i made in response to a brief asking for a 'lost city' environment. most of the assets were sourced from sketchfab and were not made by me, however the crumpled cans and heart-shaped mosnter were my own made assets.

blueprinting

finally, i also worked on blueprinting to create a functional 2D platformer game from a choice of 4 asset packs.
